How far is it to drive to Winterberg, Willingen and the highway?

Winterberg is 10 km from Elpe, count on a 15 minute drive for the center and 10 minutes for the slopes. Willingen is 20 km away, count on 25 minutes. The A46 motorway is 13 km away, so allow 15 minutes.

 

What are the apartments equipped with?

The apartments are equipped in such a way that you have all the comfort and everyday things. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove (4 burners), extractor hood, coffee machine, kettle, oven and toaster. In addition, there is a wide range of pans, plates, glasses, cutlery, etc. So you do not have to bring all of this yourself.

Furthermore, the apartments are self-sufficient; a base with toilet roll, some bin bags and washing up liquid and brush are provided. If you need more, you have to take care of this yourself.  

 

Is bed linen available?

All beds are equipped with single mattresses, duvets and pillows. You can bring your own sheets or rent them for €9 per bed. The use of sheets is mandatory for hygiene reasons.

 

Are bed linen and towels for rent?

You can rent bed linen for €9 per set. Towels are unfortunately not for rent from us.

Are there cots and high chairs?

Yes, these are available on request (free of charge). For hygiene reasons, please bring your own blankets for the cots.

Can the dog come too?

Dogs are allowed in all apartments, except apartment 3 (which is pet-free due to allergies). For a dog we ask €20 extra for cleaning. If you would like a pet-free apartment, please indicate this when booking and we will take this into account.  

 

Is it possible to get breakfast?

Of course! In the village there is a bakery/restaurant ( Südtiroler Backhaus ) where you can get fresh bread rolls every day, and enjoy various breakfasts. You can also buy cake here, have lunch or eat a delicious pizza in the evening.

In addition, we offer a bread service with Bakery Hamich, they can deliver fresh warm bread rolls to your home every morning! Ask for the possibilities.  

 

Are all apartments equipped with garden furniture?

Yes, every apartment has a terrace or balcony on the sunny south with a view of the garden and the surrounding forests. Each apartment has a comfortable set with garden chairs and a table, so that you can eat outside.

 

Is there the possibility for bbq?

Yes, there are two terraces in the garden where you can barbecue. These are for common use. On a terrace is a large grill, which can be rented for a small price.

 

Is there playground equipment for children in the garden?

Yes, there are a number of play equipment, such as a ramp slide, swing, sandpit, tumble bar and climbing poles. But the biggest attraction is our own mountain stream with various waterfalls and dams. The garden is not on the road, so is a safe playground. 100 meters away, past the church, is a public playground.

 

Is there enough parking space?

Yes we have a spacious parking lot for our guests. This is of course free.

 

Is there a supermarket in the village?

No, in the village itself there is only a bakery/café with a lunch and dinner menu and a guesthouse with restaurant. A village away, Siedlinghausen (3km), you will find all the shops, such as a supermarket, getränkemarkt, butcher, restaurants, etc. These are all located on the road to Winterberg.

 

Do I need snow chains in winter?

Usually not, the major roads are very well spread and cleared of snow when necessary. Only the last part to the house can become slippery with a lot of snow. Winter tires are mandatory in Germany anyway.

 

What is the best place to start in the Winterberg ski area?

Drive via Siedlinghausen and Silbach towards Winterberg. In Silbach there is a good ski rental on the right, which is a lot cheaper than on the slopes. After Silbach follow the signs 'Landal/Golfplatz'. You are now at the valley station of the Poppenberg, next to the Landal park Winterberg. Here is a large parking lot (free), ski rental, ski depot and sale of ski passes. From here, three chairlifts and a drag lift go directly into the different sides of the area.

When booking we ask for a deposit of 30% of the rental price

You can cancel free of charge up to 4 weeks (28 days) before arrival, and you will receive the deposit back.

The remaining 70% must be paid 28 days before arrival.

Cancel up to 2 weeks (14 days) before arrival: 50%

Cancel up to 13-1 day(s) before arrival: 80%

Cancellation on day of arrival or no-show: 100%

You can cancel free of charge up to 8 weeks before arrival, you will then receive the deposit back

Cancellation 13-1 days before arrival or on the day of arrival or no-show: 100%
